The first Thursday and Friday that we that were were in KC, Colton and I hung low, and just relaxed a little bit. We played out in the backyard, but that was the extent of our excitement. It was good to have a couple of days to take a break.
On Friday evening, my Dad and Rose took us out for pizza at Old Shawnee Pizza. It's pretty tasty! Colton enjoyed hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa, and of course, eating pizza for dinner. It's a super good pizza place. I love thin crust, and this place has the best tasting thin crust pizza.
Colton got some new shoes while we were in Minnesota, and he tried them out here in KC on a rainy Friday morning. Aren't they so cute!?! I love them! What a stylish kid!
On Sabbath, we celebrated Father's Day with Dad (Grandpa Reynolds) by taking him out to eat at the Olive Garden. Dana, Dan, and Madison were there, too. It was fun to see Maddie! She has grown so much, and she was ready to be in the spot light. She entertained us all through dinner. What a doll! After the meal, we took a few pictures.
On Father's Day, we just laid low again, because everyone seemed to be starting or ending feeling sick. Colton did get to watch his first Disney cartoon ... Cars! He loved it so much. Now, if the TV is on ... he'll say "TRUCK! TRUCK!" and point to the TV. He wants to watch the cars again.
On Monday, Dad and Rose took the day off, and we went to the Louisburg Cider Mill and Deanna Rose Children's Farm. It was super fun! I haven't been to Louisburg since I was a kid at Midland for a field trip. The apple donuts were just as good as I remembered. Colton had his first taste of apple donuts and cool, refreshing apple cider. He loved it! It was, also, fun to shop at the country store. They had fresh peaches that were SO tasty! We bought a bag to eat and then when we were checking out, they had a 10 pound box for $5!!! They were a bit bruised, but I just cut them up and cut out those parts ... we froze them to make some delicious treats later. I'm going to take 6 cups home to make some things for Billy. They, also, had home grown tomatoes that were the best I've had all year! We bought a few, too.

I sliced them up, and here's what they looked like when I finished. Now, they are frozen and waiting to be baked into something yummy!
After the cider mill, we went to Deanna Rose. Colton LOVED seeing the animals! He saw ducks, pigs, goats, turkeys, ponies, horses, owls, buffalo, cows, rabbits, and fish! It was a great time. He even touched the goats and fed them ... sure only their heads could make it through the fence, but he wasn't too scared to feed them. It was very cute! After we walked around in the heat, we had a little ice cream, and then Colton got a cool toy from Grandma and Grandpa. It was a combine with a book inside. He loves it! He drove it around everywhere ... and said, "Combine!" over and over all day long. We had lunch at Red Robin. It was a tasty! I hadn't eaten there in a while. Colton had macaroni, and he loved it. He ate the whole bowl ... along with some oranges and a few sweet potato fries. It was tough keeping him awake on the way home, but he did it. What a morning, but it was a lot of fun!
That night, he couldn't wait to play with his combine some more. He drove it all around, and we read the story several times. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds for his cool new toy!
Colton then got a little brave and wanted to pet Toby. He has become more and more enamored with the dogs the more they try to run away from him.
On Tuesday morning, Dana and Maddie came over for a visit, and Colton chased Toby around and around trying to pet him. He loves that dog ... and poor Toby tries and tries to get away.
It was fun visiting with Maddie and Dana. Dana showed me all of her wedding plans so far. Her dress and the things she's picked for her wedding are beautiful. It's going to be a wonderful wedding! I had fun hanging out with both of them. Colton and Maddie both seemed not to care that each other were there ... but Colton has been teething, and he was kind of quiet and observant that morning. And Maddie just played around without a care in the world that Colton was there. It was kind of interesting. Wednesday morning, I went over to my cousin Kristie's house to see her and her kids. They three youngest had so much fun playing with Colton! Brianna took such good care of him, and Brooke wanted so badly to hold him. She didn't understand why he didn't want to be held. Blake wanted Colton to repeat everything he said! He made a fun game out of it. They kids would say to Colton, "SAY _____." And Colton would repeat it every time. They thought that was a riot! They, also, enjoyed showing Colton their cat. He really liked the cat, and he kept asking to see it. One of the kids would go and get the poor animal and drag him into the living room, so Colton could pet him. His name is Chester, and he's such a calm cat to let those kids pull him around like that. It was super fun seeing them and watching them play. I always have fun talking with Kristie and catching up.
Thursday, Colton and I met Dana and Maddie for breakfast at Mimi's. It was a delicious breakfast! We had a good time, and Colton ate so well. He ate a lot of fruit and some muffin. Even though, he has had a hard time sleeping this past week, he's always so good in the morning. I think his hard time is coming from his teething. Both the top and bottom canines on the right side are coming in ... the top just broke through on Thursday (finally!), and the bottom one is bulging--ready to break through at any moment. Hopefully, it happens soon ... because I can hardly take the waking up in the middle of the night, the crankiness, and early mornings. Anyway, at Mimi's, we got some good pictures of the kids together.
On Friday, we were busy all day running errands and getting ready for Dana's bridal shower. Colton is still teething, but on the plus side, he slept the whole night through until 8:00 a.m. this morning ... so I finally got a good night's sleep. I'm hoping I get one again tonight. Colton spent much of the day terrorizing Toby. That poor dog! He will be glad when we leave.
We went to church on Sabbath, and then we spent the afternoon at the park, after Colton's nap. He loves to just run around and collect sticks, leaves, and rocks. He's not quite big enough to care about the slides. He'll go down them a couple of times, but he just loves to collect things. He pretty much hates the swings. I don't know why ... he used to like them, but lately, he just wants down as soon as you start pushing him.
On Sunday, Colton and I spent the day at my Aunt Phylis' house. That's where Dana's Bridal shower was located. My mom flew in the night before as a surprise for my sister. My sister was very surprised! It was a good bridal shower. Everything turned out well, and my sister really enjoyed it and had a great time. That's the most important part. We spent the whole day there with Grandma Bourland, and Colton had a great time with Kristie's kids again. Brianna is such a good babysitter. I wish we lived closer to them ... I would use her all of the time!
